Re: The story thus far...

@Painted Lady - Having played through books I & II twice now, I don't doubt that it would be fun a third time, but with a few other games coming out very soon (Wasteland 2 & Divinity: Original Sin) I doubt I'd be able to finish both books again. @Lord_P - Thanks for that! I was somewhere aro...

The story thus far...

I've played through both Book I and Book II, but it's been a while and my memory is terrible. I would love to see a "the story thus far..." supplement as we draw near to Book III. Does anyone know if that exists anywhere? I would personally prefer a detailed account, but I'm sure there are...

Re: Somehow lost main quest line

Yes! You are correct. I told Minus, "I'll figure it out on my own". Then, I did not at ALL figure it out on my own. I so very much did not do that.

Thanks for all your help. Feels good to be back on track.

Re: Somehow lost main quest line

Ahhh... yes, this is what I needed. Curious, how would I know to use the viewing glass in that area? Does someone you meet hint at that? Yes. The old man in the back of the academy, as I recall. Hmm, that guy only says two things to me, both of which can be paraphrased as "go away". Maybe...

Somehow lost main quest line

Greetings all, I have a peculiar problem and need a SMALL hint (smaller the better, it's killing me having to ask!). I've made it through 80% of the game without the main quest line. I went to the inn in Eastwillow initially, got the strange viewing glass, and made my way over to Minus at the cottag...

Awesome, thanx for sharing. I can honestly say that your work is a big inspiration to my own personal hobbyist game dev. Somehow, knowing that someone else is also up at 2am trying to figure out why that sprite is upside down and backwards is comforting... :)

Re: Just who is BasiliskWrangler?

lol, nice try. Anyone on this forum that has ever attempted to make a game (and I'm sure there are more than a few) would love to know more about the man behind this game. Every interview I click into just talks about the actual game itself. I want to know about the creative process, your work envir...

Just who is BasiliskWrangler?

I've seen so much about Eschelon Book II already, and we've all loved Book I with a passion, but I've always wondered more about BasiliskWrangler. To complete a game of this magnitude almost entirely by yourself is epic. So: Did you really make this game almost entirely solo? I just want to hear the...

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills

Great quote about game design. BasaliskWrangler, I think you can probably appreciate this. It's from Jay Wilson, lead designer on Diablo 3, in regards to people that are already prepared to go into a rage when the classes are announced: All the barbarian players are delighted and all the necromancer...

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills

I have to add 1 more thing to this....when we had just a male character in Book I, we got lots of complaints. People wanted the option to play a female character. Yet now that we've put females in Book II, the idea that females might play slightly different than males is just as offensive as not ha...

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills

Why is this feature so important to you? For me, it is about identifying physiological differences between body sizes. Just drop the very idea of "gender" for a moment... I could have yet one more attribute in the character editor called "Body Size" whereas larger body masses ge...

Re: Diablo 3 confirmed

As with everything Blizzard does, it's impossible to speculate how fun their games will be, but their track record is flawless. Theory crafting is entertaining, but in the end, it will be obscenely fun and I'll be taking off 2 days of work when it is released :)

Re: Re:

For Book II, the level cap is 30. Levels 1-20 are the same as Book I, while levels 21 - 30 are "Elite Levels". I believe I read in another post about the possibility of importing your character from Book I into Book II. Would importing a lvl 20 character then cause you to "miss"...

Re:

I liked Kult quite a bit (my review is here ), because it was a game that knew what it wanted to get done and *did it*! Too many games reach too high and fail - there is much more that *could* have done, but I like what Kult actually did. If only Kult ran on Vista. Alas, I am a sad panda, it looks ...
