Re: Minecraft
Just saw Minecraft mentioned in Nodwick comments section about the game and a link for something someone built using Minecraft that is mind blowing! Those here who play the game might be interested in viewing the YouTube thingy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn2-d5a3r94 This guy (Halkun) is a memb...

Re: Exploration sucks
2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM, GMA 950 For me, on the otherhand..a few trees on the screen and it takes roughly 5times longer to travel one screen length due to massive slowdown. I just completely avoid forested areas and exploring near/around them because it's not worth the frustration. I have a...

Re: Exploration sucks
Speed slider = no need. And thats only my opinion :) But, those trees should be fixed, or try to fix.. They eat your PC. My laptop doesn't have any problems with that though. Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz 2 GB RAM GeForce 8600M I'm on a Core2Duo 1.8Ghz, 1GB RAM, GeForce 7300GT desktop, and this gam...

Re: Book II CD or DVD
Save the breakin' stuff for the beta... =P Is that going to affect the price? Would it be more cost effective to have 2 CDs... one with the installs, and another with the extras (I have a feeling that would be more appealing to the "extra stuff" freaks anyway  ) ? Dunno about you...

So we can pick locks, blow stuff up with powder kegs, wield magic and weapos, yet we still can't just climb through a window?

Re: A more interactive world for Book II.
On the topic of sleeping in places other than inns... Why not allow the character to sleep in any bed they find? Obviously they can be snuck up on just like camping, but say if you find a cabin and pick the lock, then lock the door when you come in and set a fire in the fireplace, you would get a mu...

Re: character interaction changes to the world
New skill - sailing? The higher the level, the quicker you get from place to place? Longer journeys require more food and water, there is a higher chance of losing a save roll against inclement weather and being injured in a storm, or catching a cold [disease] when you get thrown overboard and have ...

Re: Do you want loot/pick lock/disable trap to be changed ?
Rather than changing the system completely, why not change it a little to dissuade 'cheating'? Lockpicks are less likely to break, perhaps more expensive to buy, you could have to get different lockpicks for different types of locks, magical locks could require magical lockpicks, the difficulty of p...

User-definable waypoints and flags would be an excellent inclusion to the game.

Re: Female vs male character attributes and skills
So you want the second game to garner more flak for being 'sexist' than the first?
Attributes and skill sets should be identical for the sexes, only different for races and axioms.
The only difference between the sexes should be character graphics, voices, and dialogue gender associations.

Re: Things you'd like to see in Book II User's Manual
Copy pasta the text from the manual .pdf into a new .pdf with no background? Some background story, not only about Eschalon itself, but about the NPC's in the game, and some info about Basilisk Games and its slaves (sorry, employees) would be nice. If we buy the game on cd/dvd could we get it in a d...

Re: Regeneration of Monsters
Regeneration of monsters is great fun, when done correctly. Obviously major bosses and quest foes should never regen, but sub-bosses, and regular minions should slowly repop over time. Perhaps set some sort of timeout so that you can clear an area and nothing shows up for two or four in-game days, t...
