Re: Dungeon building
One of the major things I learned as a software developer for 25+ years is to compartmentalize things. I always built an abstraction layer on top of any third-party software that I used, and kept the main program logic completely separate. I never used 3rd-party types or functions directly in my cod...

Re: Book III Mod: The Mystery of Rockhammer Mine
Hey everyone! I was informed that the zip file that was attached to the original post had somehow become corrupted. So, I have uploaded the file to my Google Drive account, and I updated the original post to delete the attachment and include the new link.

Re: Wintry Games
Great topic! I'm finishing my second playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles X on my Wii U. I never completed all of the post-game missions or tried to do 100% completion on all of the maps before, and I'm working toward that now. I never realized how much fun stuff I was missing. There are some very go...

Re: Happy New Year!
Happy new year, Kreador! And happy new year, everybody! Thanks for the update, BW! I stop by once in a while to see what's going on, hoping you're still here and that there might be some news about your endeavors. I understand about moving, that's a pain, but I hope you're happy in your new digs. I ...

Re: Deep Sky Derelicts
Interesting. When I searched Google for the game, it took me to the company's web site, and it only mentions PC:

Re: Deep Sky Derelicts
That looks really interesting. I love the comic book style artwork and vibe, and I've been on the lookout for a good turn-based RPG with a card aesthetic. Too bad it's only on PC. I'd love to have this on my Switch, or even on my Mac.

Re: Book II Mod: Return to Bastion Spire
Thanks! I've actually been playing through all 3 games again recently. I really miss this series. Still very fun! I'm currently running a blog and YouTube channel under the monicker, "Professor Toybox". It's about Disney Infinity, which I love, but of course since the game was cancelled a ...

Re: Book II Mod: Return to Bastion Spire
Hey everyone! I've updated the shared link to the file on Google Drive. The previous link was no longer valid due to a security update. Sorry about that. I didn't realize that link no longer worked, but it should be fixed now!

Re: The State of the Basilisk 2018: A Year in Review
As a former indie developer myself, I can certainly understand your struggles. And though I'm disappointed that there isn't a new game to play, I'm still rooting for you! And meantime, I have a backlog of Nintendo games for my Switch and Wii U to play through. So I have enough to keep me busy for aw...

Re: What are you currently playing?
Wow, just realized it has been awhile since I posted here. I just completed a cross-country move from California to Michigan. We've been here one month now, and are just finally starting to get settled in. Anyway, since my original post, I finished Breath of the Wild and Avernum 3. Loved them both! ...

What are you currently playing?
This is in response to BW's invitation on the front page (http://basiliskgames.com/update-please/) to "stop by our forums and let us know what you’re currently playing!" I bought myself a Nintendo Switch right after Christmas, and I played through Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (one of my first ga...

Re: The State of the Basilisk, Summer 2017
Whee! This is great news! Can't wait to see some screenshots and a video! I've been looking forward to a good sci-fi RPG for a long time. Am currently playing Xenoblade Chronicles X (which I found at a discounted price of $20 on ebay) on my Wii U. I'm not too far into it yet, but am enjoying the pla...

Re: Uses of Move Silently and Hide in Shadows
Hm. I never noticed any problems with it when I played. Granted, I did have to pump more points into both skills and DEX, as well as Light Armor (if I wanted to wear light armor and move silently), but I was able to sneak around most places without being seen/caught, and distinctly remember sniping ...
