I bought the game as soon as I got home from work last night(12.21.07)! Would have bought it sooner had I bothered to check the forums while I was at work... So I downloaded it, installed it and played it...everything looks great! What a wonderful Christmas present! Thanks a million for suppo...

In addition to the Linux Game Tome, as Per already mentioned, you might try to do submissions to: LinuxGames ( http://www.linuxgames.com ) Freshmeat.net ( http://www.freshmeat.net ) Softpedia ( http://www.softpedia.com ) I don't know much about Softpedia, but the other two sites(and the Game Tome), ...

Just wanted to report in that I downloaded the new demo and everything is *still* working just perfectly! Like the changes you made in the directory and binary naming! One more item and I think it's been requested before, but is it possible that you could include an icon image file in the game archi...

Hi Vadi, can you give us a little information about the machine you are trying to run the game on? (System specs such as CPU, RAM, audio hardware, and most importantly, video hardware.) Also which distribution of Linux are you using?

It's good to see some more "It's working!" posts! :D It seems that the game does indeed work with a fair number of ATI video devices...perhaps the problems reported so far *are* directly tied to driver issues? I never did dig up an ATI card that was new enough to test with unfortunately. T...

Thanks for dropping in Vandarin...more testing is always good! :) Interesting to note that Compiz didn't affect your performance numbers nearly as much as it did mine. I also noticed some slight tearing, but I am pretty sure that was when I had Compiz running and the game in full screen mode. I am a...

BW, I think what Per was getting at is that the *path* is just fine...the users home directory like you have it now, but that the directory that you *create* to store that saved games in should be ".eschalon_b1_saved_games" instead of "eschalon_b1_saved_games". The addition of th...

Only a minor thing BW, but I am using gcc version 4.1.2 on this PC(Sys2) and gcc version 4.2.2 on the home machine(Sys1). Now, correct me if I am wrong, but gcc is used only when compiling software on a users machine. Eschalon is a pre-compiled(by Blitz) binary when we download it, correct? So in th...

Glad to hear you are making progress RezoApio! Yes, Compiz Fusion is a bad thing when it comes to game performance I think. :) The game was playable on my system with it running, but not as nice. Everyone who is/was having trouble(I am guessing Kxc tried this already, but if not please do since it w...

Been following the game for quite some time now...you can bet your last gold piece that I will be sending in my $$... I would have bought the game and went through the pain of playing it in windows if I would have had to. A Linux version is totally the "icing on the cake" though!

Ready to test on Gentoo Linux! :D I expect very, very few problems at all. As nearly any Linux user with a little experience will tell you, at their heart, all the Linux distros are the same(ie. same/similar kernel). The differences come of course when you have the various distros adding their own &...

Thanks BasiliskWrangler! I shouldn't think there would be any trouble at all making the game work with different distributions. At the core, every distribution is nearly the same(ie. same kernel, but with different minor patches). It makes sense to start with Ubuntu though since that is the most pop...

Hi! I've been "lurking" on and off for quite some time now on these forums, checking on the status of the game and reading up on features and such. I had read about the possibility of a Linux version and when I saw this post, I just had to register and respond! :) Add me to the list of peo...
