Re: The Mage Assassin
It was annoying, however, once I had Elemental and HiS/Move SIlently trained to 8, I had plenty to dump five into each during each level up. It worked out in the end, though, for a while I was concerned I might end up not leveling up enough before the game ended and have unused skill points sitting ...

The Mage Assassin
I just wanted to say that, for anybody interested in trying it out, the mage/thief combo is fantastically fun to play. I rolled up an elemental warlock (nefarious magick user) and am having an absolute blast. The essential points are a 31 elemental magick skill, at least 25 in INT, and PERC to 70. I...

Re: Eschalon book II whole explored world map [SPOILER]
Well yeah, if you want your magic glass to paint striped arrows on the ground then don't bother.
Like I said, I found it useful, as it pointed me in the right direction from any point on that map.

I just popped out of Westwillow with my Nefarious piercing Rogue, and he has his deadly, mean-nasty, sticky-pokey...

I love my spear-wielding Rogue!!!

Re: Eschalon book II whole explored world map [SPOILER]
I just recently realized that the viewing glass actually directs you from any point once you enter that section of the world map. When you use the device, there is a flow/thrust to the sparkly things, and they point like an arrow in the direction you need to go from anywhere in the mire. I thought i...

Westwillow
I would love to go to Westwillow. I've gleaned that I get there inside the Ironpool Dam, however there is no way for me to get past the gate. The dwarf inside tells me about his job, and that is it. There seems to be nothing else there...no switches I can pull (tried doing the levers with Ogre STr. ...

Re: Dwarven mine (SPOILER)
I wish I had a lantern
I bumped into walls and relied on level 1 cartography. Overall, I'd say I advanced at a glacial pace.

Dwarven mine (SPOILER)
Just to say "Hey I'm an idiot", let me suggest to any who are about to embark into the Dwarevn mine, that you heed the warning at the entrance, and BE PREPARED. Namely, preparation in the form of a light source, which I did not have upon my descent except for 2 torches, and you can imagine...

Re: Do advertisements work?
I also found the game on Steam. When I discovered I could buy it directly from Basilisk, though, I did that as opposed to purchasing it on Steam. I bought one game on Steam, and the client crashes for no good reason at odd times. It seems very unstable to me, which is a bother. Plus, why have an ext...

Re: Pure Assassin
The best armor/weapon bonuses are exactly what I'm looking for. I've heard lvl 25 is required for that, is that true in alchemy?

Skill point caps?
I was reading through the Strategy Guide, and noticed some references made to the level at which skill points stop yielding returns (ex. at 40 Perception MP regen rate caps at 9, or something like that?)
Anybody know of any other caps that exist for other skills?

Re: Pure Assassin
Hehe, yeah I tried a keg at one point and exploded myself into the next century. Pretty exciting stuff!!!
I'm looking forward first to upping my Hide in Shadows ability, as well as Move Silently (I'll check the stats page to find the exact numbers).
I think Alchemy is the next best thing for me?

Ooh unarmed combat! Now I KNOW I saw a ring for that somewhere on my journeys.
