A cry in the woods about Book II
Finished the game a few weeks back. Thanks for such an enjoyable experience. Loved it. I'm a serial game abandonner, often getting less than half-way through a game before getting bored with it and moving on to the next bright and shiny one. In fact, I haven't finished an RPG in probably one or two ...

Actually, you can do this without any Move Silent. The higher the Hide Shadows you have, the further you can be away from a wall or tree and remain hidden, plus, when you get it high enough, even hitting a foe will not reveal you. I'm guessing that Move Silent will prevent the baddies from following...

My Ranger's 10th level or so, and I'm having a blast. Mind you, I haven't played a pure-Archer, but more of what I think of as a classic Ranger: bow fist, melee backup, light armor, some Divination magic, Cartography, and a bit of concealment and Survival. I added Alchemy because I couldn't resist. ...

Consider it from the point of view of a new player, one who just reads the manual and then heads off to play. This is an old-school RPG, so without being told otherwise the player will assume skills and attributes operate under the basic idea that more = better. And the majority of the stats do fol...

Edit: Nevermind. Post nuked. This is pointless. Actually, I think we've gotten to the heart of the matter. You think the game balance should support power gamers for the sake of reaching a broader audience. I think that doing so would compromise one of the core principles of the design. So I, for o...

Even if the game doesn't have strict archetyping/classes, it still needs its internal mechanics to be consistent. Again, why? Why must each and every mechanic follow the same rules? Why must each skill be linear in progression? In fact, that seems rather boring to me. I like that the skill system i...

I'd rather it wasn't religiously one or the other. We have enough of those. I like the idea of starting out with a flavor but not being overly restricted on where I go from there. I wouldn't mind tinkering with it a bit to make the flavor last a little longer, if you will, but I think it would take ...

My prime char (i.e. the one furthest along) is mostly a Ranger, so excuse my ignorance on the late game Mage conundrum, but have you guys been making heavy use of Fortify Mana potions? Seems to me that cutting the mana cost in half for your spells in a big battle would address one of the problems, a...

And lastly, would be great to see what items I have equiped when shopping. Its nice to be able to compare what you are using with what you'd like to buy. I have to keep checking out of the store to doule check the armour rating of an item, then go back in etc... This is already a feature. In the mi...
