Re: Integrated Graphics GMA 4500m
Book 2 runs beautifully on my now somewhat old GMA 950 card. Book 1 had problems with it, but book 2 doesn't.

Re: 'Unknown': a minor quibble
The magic formula relates, I believe, to the "item level" -- which is what determines which items a particular merchant will stock, what will appear in chests of a certain level, etc. This means that how "mundane" or "obvious" an item seems has nothing to do with how ea...

Re: Feats and Weapon Skills Discussion
The problem is that due to the way damage and to-hit are calculated, the differences between different weapon types, and between different individual weapons, are mostly negligible. Basically we have: Meaningful differences: 1) Ranged (bow, thrown) vs. melee 2) Easy to keep in stock vs. takes a litt...

Re: STAT EFFECTS
You probably missed the "non-" part. Magic Users as stated all over the manual, etc and as in Book I and the last 30 years of D&D-based games, benefit from Intelligence; Healers benefit from Wisdom. The game has those benefits reversed in this one particular.

Re: Foraging - Depends on Intelligence and Wisdom?
Just FYI -- my stat effects topic is not guaranteed to list every effect of the stats. At the moment, it lists every effect that I can see in-game or that somebody has pointed out. Since a lot of skills benefit from a stat (eg, Meditation and Spot Hidden from Perception, Lore from Intelligence, Pick...

Whoa. Nice Improvement on Walking Speed!
When I first played book I on my then-new MacBook, it was pretty slow. Specifically, walking was very, very slow. When Book 2 came out, with the PC version coming first, I thought I'd try running it on my MacBook (under Windows XP via Boot Camp). The speed was actually a bit better than book I was. ...

Re: Accuracy Percentile
The accuracy percentiles look pretty realistic to me in terms of how many hits actually connect. Two things that sometimes happen to me that could easily make things feel this way: - My buff suddenly wears off and I don't notice - I'm fighting a handful of weak enemies and some stronger ones that lo...

Re: Imbuing the Warmoth bow
In this particular case, yeah, I guess the Warmoth is still useful -- just because the feat for Bows is so fantastic. However, even if you enchant for damage, you are still getting a total of +4 bonus damage, +1 to +2 regular damage (half as damaging, remember) and +1 to +2 to hit. With a regular bo...

Re: Imbuing the Warmoth bow
Right, but the point is that a nonmagical melee weapon, you can always enchant +3 to hit, +3 to damage, +3 bonus damage. If a named weapon already has, say, +2 to damage and +1 poison damage, you can enchant +3 to hit but that's it. Right?

Re: Imbuing the Warmoth bow
Yeah, it does not seem well planned that the named weapons -- something that is typically reserved for special, powerful items -- are almost all weaker than standard variants due to their inability to be imbued properly.

Re: Damage Reduction from armor skill
Ewwww. That sucks.
Well, there goes all possible motivation to buff DR with high armor skills + Stoneskin. Bleh.
This is very useful information though -- thanks for sharing it, as well!

Re: Damage Reduction from armor skill
Agreed, thanks for sharing it. I take it there is no DR for other armor slots? (feet, cloak, belt, etc... and shield with shield skill?)
