Re: Frayed Knights
It's out and I've got it. Now I just have to wait to get off work to give it a try.

Re: Frayed Knights
Price is TBA but "in line with other indie RPGs". By which I assume $20.00 to $30.00.

Re: Frayed Knights
The most recent posts on Jay's website indicate the game will be released next Wednesday if things go as planned. I'll try to post some first impressions if I have time to play before I go on vacation.

Re: Frayed Knights
FPP = first person perspective
Here is a preview of the game with a nice description of a combat encounter by the developer Jay Barnson.

Frayed Knights
I've been keeping an eye on this game for awhile, and it looks like its going to be out in the next few weeks. I'm hoping it comes out by Oct 3 as I'm taking that week off. It is an old school turn based FPP (blob) game with a pre-generated party and a satirical sense of humor. http://rampantgames.c...

Re: Unique Item Suggestions
Maybe BW will add in a "shield bash" attack and then you could have "dual shield wielding".

Re: How about this for Book III?
It wasn't my most anticipated game but I would have bought it.
Now I won't.

Re: The Witcher II
The problem is I played The Witcher 1 in the zoomed out "high isometric" mode with point and click movement and generous use of the pause button. The Witcher 2 has none of these features and instead only allows the OTS view with WASD movement, and needs the type of gaming skills I don't po...

Dark Disciples II
http://www.dodgysoft.com/ I've been playing this game for a few days and is the best freeware game I have ever played. It is bigger and better than some indie games I have actually paid for. The graphics are simple and without any animation, but the starting town is quite large with lots of quests. ...

Re: Holy sh!t
No one's commented on this yet, but note that the pillars on the new Book III page display dragons . Hmmmm.... Continuing with the "are there dragons in Book III" theme. There is clothing made of "ancient dragon skin" in Book II. So, the skins exist, but are not new. Hmmmm, meth...

Re: jaded gamer seeks info on good rpgs . . .
You really should give Fallout 1 another try it is a fine game. If you are getting killed by scorpions you are doing something wrong. You need to either redesign your character or try another approach. One of the strong points of this game is that there is usually more than one way to complete the q...

Re: The Age of Decadence
Its just a different style. I like the way Vince does interviews and his approach to forum debate is pretty much the same. He is a "master of internet debate" if you know what I mean, but he also will take good advice when it is given.

Re: COMPREHENSIVE Book III 'Wishlist' (List form)
How about being able to set traps? I was playing around with powder kegs last night and they add some good tactical choices, but are rare and are often overkill. Leghold traps and some smaller explosive devices would be a good subtle alternative to the heavy handed mage and fighter approaches.

Re: Most Anticipated Games of 2011
I've reached a point where I just don't trust AAA games enough to anticipate them. I can honestly say I expect to enjoy the indie games: Age of Decadence Avadon Knights of the Chalice II Eschalon Book III The AAA games I will wait and see. I really don't like what I'm hearing about Dragon Age 2 and ...

Re: What we like and don't in an RPG
1) If I see a new game in development the first thing I look for is Turn Based combat. If the combat is TB I put the game on my list. If the game has RT combat I'll wait for other people to play and review it. An RT game has to be pretty special to interest me. 2) The next thing I look for is party ...
