I'd say if you're going to the trouble, you may as well add both.

The hook was well into me by the time the original demo was over, but that's just me...

I don't think any "storyline critical" objects can be sold or dropped, however minor quest objects can be. I think it kind of ruins something when every single quest object is clearly labeled as "special". You don't have that luxury in real life to know exactly if every object y...

No, that's about typical for QTT, and there's no point in registering to set them straight. Thanks for saving me the time. :) Hey Thom, You may already know this, but here's a list of sites that have reviewed Depths of Peril. If they'll review that quality indie, I'd think they'd review yours as we...

They are talking about it on the QT3 forums. A good place, since it's mainly populated by gaming industy insiders. http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/index.php Yeah, but I find their disucssion pretty disappointing and short-sighted. Bitching about little stuff and expecting creature-comforts ...

I'm also enjoying my Ranger. I don't find the bow useless at all. I use Entangle from the Div school to lock opponents down, when I can, and then pump them full of arrows. Entangle does wonders for your To Hit rating. Of course, also Leatherskin, Cat's Eyes and Heal. Dodge has been a very useful ski...

[Suggestions] UI-related

1) Have an audible clue when an effect wears off, such as Leatherskin or Bless. 2) Have a graphical representation of how much of your current torch is left by having the torch button in the top right burn down in accordance with how many turns it has left until it's a nub and extinguishes. 3) Allow...

Wow, I guess I am really taking my time then :) I don't want it to end, so that's probably why I am taking my time in each area. Don't feel bad, Saxon. I'm over 20hrs in and I don't think I'm even halfway. :) Partly because I'm playing a class that, apparently, requires more thought/time in combat ...

Thom needs to hire Steven Peeler of Depths of Peril fame to do his marketing. He got his indie release reviewed on a ton of sites. :)

I concur on Dodge being useful even at lower levels. It's a main skill of my Ranger, and at only 4, I'm still finding it very helpful.

Speaking of %'s and skills, is the DR % the chance of you receiving only half the damage of a given hit, or is it a truly linear reduction to the damage amount?

Re: Unbalanced

I would agree with everything DTravel has said about the game not being balanced, or at least having a lot of tedious elements. I would add:... You're missing the point of this game. Most of the conveniences you're looking for are counter to the basic principle behind this game: old school. That, i...

Actually, i think the darkness modifiers are kind of buggy in general. My char makes heavy use of Cat's Eyes and auto-snuffs his torch when you fires a bow, and I've experienced rather inconsistent application of the darkness modifier on my opponent as well as on me, which sometimes disappears after...

Hmmm there MUST be some kind of luck-factor. At the moment my Ranger is not realy a thread to any monster.... :( Hmm... I'm having great fun with my Ranger. Got a little lucky with finding a nice ax, put a skill point into cleaving, and then found a +3 to cleave amulet. So, I pincushion them as the...

Freakin' fantastic game. Love, love, LOVE IT! A few requests: 1) make interaction cursor a different color in addition to being a different shape. In a game that relies on "cursor searching", would be very helpful. 2) make color of character conditions different. e.g. red = bad, blue = mag...

First and foremost, your game rocks, and rocks hard. I haven't been this taken with a game in quite a while. Can't.... stop... playing.... :D The brainpower and love that's gone into this game are evident. I'm almost 12 hours in and still finding new game mechanics and game engine cheap thrills. Swe...

From the description, upping the level only makes it last longer. However, there are two not-so-obvious benefits I've noticed:
1) In combination with a torch, it significantly enhances your LOS
2) It gives you the advantage in combat when all else is dark (bugginess not withstanding)
