The point that Slarty is making is that in terms of efficiency in dealing damage, all characters tend towards the same skill set. Running a pure mage requires extensive use of mana potions or retreating to regain mana because of the spell damage cap. So at some point it becomes better to go to weapo...

The only beginning quest that you might not do without purchasing equipment is the retrieve the mithral bar because you might need a lock pick. I think even that one could be done if you think about it and don't mind lots of reloads. The only hard part is knowing when to retreat so you don't run out...

Pick locks and skullduggery are another case of no point in getting more than one level. Since experience is based on your ease of opening, the higher the levels you have, the less experience you get for your effort (10 XP less per level versus 5% easier chance of doing it). Sure you save time in no...

Another adult here in the mid 40s. The 50 and up really should be split into mature adult and experienced adult. Undead should be somewhere over 70. This group skews much older than the active posters over in Spiderweb. I'm used to more high school and college age posters that weren't born when PCs ...

I see if I start the game in windowed mode I can access other windows in exchange for a smaller screen. At least I don't have to quit when I want to do something else and wait through start up. I would like to do more things from keyboard instead of menus. Quit and restore quicksave game have been m...

Players Manual text problem
Is it just me or is the Mac demo version of the Eschalon Player's manual almost all unreadable characters? Except for the cover and the map there aren't enough readable parts to use it. Most are just rectangular boxes.
