It could be a corrupt preference file, which you may need to delete and have the game make a new one...
or something as simple as needing to Repair Disk Permissions (is that still under Disk Utility in OS X 10.4?).

Re: Book II Questions Thread
Oh, man, don't ruin the female characters by only letting them use "girly" or "stripper" clothing. That would be a big disappointment after finally getting female characters... I didn't mean like that... @ confused1: That's good to know. :) I overreacted, thinking that your sugg...

Re: Book II Questions Thread
Since we will be able to choose male or female characters, will stores stock different gender clothing? Or will it all be the same? And on a similar note, will gender help/hurt certain stats? Oh, man, don't ruin the female characters by only letting them use "girly" or "stripper"...

Re: Board colors hurt my eyes
Go to your User Control Panel (link should be near the top of the page), then Board Preferences, then choose what you want under My Board Style. I like the subsilver2 colors, but you can also choose from Basilisk Games Dark Imperial and prosilver.
Thanks, again, BW!

Re: Great Free Software
I've noticed everything listed seems to be for Windows. Here are a few programs for Mac and Windows, both, and sometimes Linux, too. There are also numerous free apps for Mac only, of all sorts not listed here, like Neo Office. Jude Free music software for Mac and Windows and Linux: http://audacity....

Re: Board colors hurt my eyes
Okay, thanks. When it resets everyone else, can they still go into their preferences and change it back to dark imperial? BTW, no offence, but why did you choose a default setting that causes eye strain? :? Maybe there is another cool setting you could default to that has dark text on a light...

Re: Board colors hurt my eyes
No, I'm well aware of refresh rate flickering, because I get migraines. My monitor is set to 100 Hz and I've even set Eschalon Book I to a higher refresh rate.
It is the light text on black (or dark grey) that does it.

Re: Remember when
Jude, What font color are you using? I see green on light blue and not very well! You are almost unreadable! Sorry, I was trying to be clever by making it look like the text on the old mainframe monitors, green on black, but then there was a problem where the boards changed color (now fixed) due to...

Re: Board colors hurt my eyes
Oh, damn! I don't know what happened, because when you first allowed the option to change it, it was still the default color scheme. I changed mine in the user CP, and I assumed that only mine changed. Did you give me complete board control by accident, so that when I changed mine, everything change...

Re: Remember when
Arrgh, I hated those text adventure games! I used to throw the key in the pond and quit! I used to play pretty cool RPGs and strategy games on the mainframes at college (I think the computer club hackers used to put them on). Anyone remember when your character was a D and the monsters were Xs, and ...

Re: Diablo 3 confirmed
I like that there will be a single-player game, too. Also, I like that all of the characters can be either female or male. I will probably have to figure out how to afford a new Mac to run it when it comes out, though... I'm still addicted to Diablo II (and the LOD expansion) and have hundreds of ch...
