Re: Back to Beta

Does that mean fifteen to twenty people picked. As per your previous experience, about half quit... Just curious.

Re: Which Spiderweb Software game do you prefer, and why?

I like the Geneforge series because of the unique setting.

Re: Knights of the Chalice

I think the author did a lot of specific combat scripts in addition to the AI, this made the game better. He set many of the monsters actions individually for each encounter.

Re: Divine Divinity

I thought it was a pain. The first part of the game was fine. Then the second part with the six castles of the evil minions was too much. I stopped playing.

Re: What type of Quests?

You had explosions. I would like to systematically blow something up. Then run away with a timer. Lots of people would hate this, but I kind of like this idiocy. I also would like some ridiculous quests, or even insane quests, things like quest for the cheese, or other retrieval quests. There are no...

I just finished reading Ragamuffin by Tobias Buckell, it is Caribbean style science fiction. A bit different and entertaining.

filetype:
You can delimit by the extension .doc, .xls, .pdf
It is one of the searches.

For names, I wouldn't necessarily use goodle. people.yahoo.com is a really nice search engine to find people.

Also zoominfo.com is a nice place to search for biographical information. Most of it is free.

A short review.

I finished it as well. I really liked the large variety of quests. There were enough monsters to keep my interest in the different critters. There were a large variety of items and graphics for items. I liked the alchemy option for making potions. I was a little disappointed that you couldn't do muc...

I find China Mieville's books to be well written, but his social commentary which he peppers throughout the books gets on my nerves. You have to play close attention to catch it, however. I really like the young adult novel he wrote, there is a lot less commentary, also there are a lot of illlustrat...

Bashing Barrels

I am trying to bash the barrel in Vela so I can get the fourth goblin key. I can't seem to get it to work, or I don't know what the bash command is.

The classics are wonderful in some ways. A lot of them are just the most popular books of their day. I find some of the Roman and Greek writings far better than the classics. I am not big on some of them. The Brothers Karamazov is the best book by Doestoevsky. It is very very long however. Everyone ...

Am downloading the demo now. Should take about half an hour with a cable modem. You might want to consider another download site with more bandwidth than filefront. I usually get about 4x speed at a place like gamershell, or downloads.com

Dan Simmons did an interesting take on the Iliad and the Odyssey set on mars called Olympos, it is quite good. It is much like Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light in some ways. I like Fritz Lieber's books, I also like L. Sprague De Camp's Reluctant King series which is quite entertaining.
