After several moments of inspired stupidity, I did this.
Hello,
After several moments of inspired stupidity, I decided to do this. It is a log of a lot of the books I have read during the past year. Hope this doesn't bother you too much.

Part of it is a conditioning to rush to get things to do things faster and faster. I like to be able to go through a game slowly and systematically taking in all the details, loaves of breads, lockpicks, bottles of wine, scraps of paper with notes on them in an unhurried way. Now most games are desi...

Roguelikes, Rogue Temple, Incusion, and Xenocide
I have just been trying out some of the more recent roguelikes over at http://www.roguetemple.com, specifically Xenocide which has been a lot of fun, and Incursion which is too complicated.
Anybody have any favorite roguelikes?

It is a great hack and slash game with quests. Now you add strategy to it which really doesn't make too much sense. The tutorial covers how to get quests and fight, but really gives you no idea how to deal with and fight other factions properly. You trade once with the tutorial then that is it. I en...

Hmm, I am sure you could say the same about Spiderweb Software, I did their beta-testing for Geneforge 4, it took about five weeks, they have plenty of people to do internal testing. Two weeks is awful short. How long does it take to finish the game if it is 40 hours long, it would take at least two...

Scallywag Lair of the Medusa
This thing looks like a beefed up dungeon hack. Opinions. The game is not out yet. I am posting a link to the demo.

Nethergate Resurrection
I have been playing Nethergate Resurrection and it is a much better game than the first one. There are a number of improvements. The Romans are definitely a lot more conqueror types than they were before. Right now, I just finished the demo section with them. It is not the graphics which are great b...

I don't think most of the people who play the game even know what kind of engine it uses. In fact, the next game I am really looking forward to is Kult Heretic Kingdoms: Reluctant Hero, it uses Ogre3D an open source system. I also thought that most of the independents used something called Torque 3D...

I liked it, but it didn't really give me a chance to look at the individual screens for characters. Also lots of fighting. You might want to do a second one which is a bit slower for noncombat elements. There were no crafting screens, lockpicking screens, or map views. Might want to show some noncom...
