Giants aren't known for being very bright. Give them some very strong wine, add some herbs to their meat. You have unconscious giant which you tie up and carry away. Pay other giants to sell you giant slaves. You don't have to get them yourself. Anyways do you have any more original monster pictures...

I like the option of gaining the ability to specialize after you spend a certain number of points in a specific skill lets say sword-- the option of say fighting with 2 daggers after you have spent 3 points in dagger skill.

I think that Eschalon might want to create something like an RP-- Roleplaying Forum once the game gets going. I know its stupid a lot of the time. Even having the option to post fan fiction or fan drawings if you can tolerate it could be very interesting. As long as it is moderated, it could add to ...

The problem is that low level characters start with the ability to dual wield proficiently. Dual wielding is not something which a beginning character should be able to do effectively. First you would have to be able to wield a sword fairly well. Then you would have to wield the second weapon very w...

Gothic ii was already too much for me. I did like Geneforge 4 for windows though. Gothic III would eat my brain.

I am curious if there is food are there any other things like alcohol-- beer and wine, or tobacco with minor effects. Also are there alchemical things which you can pick up like herbs in the forest which have minor effects-- very low healing power 1-4 points, etc. Also are there different kinds of f...

Independent Games Festival

I see you are at the Independent Games Festival. Does this mean you will release the demo before the festival so we can fool with it. Tells us what the festival is like.

You can purchase Jagged Alliance 2 from Manifesto Games, http://www.manifestogames.com . This might be a good distribution site for Eschalon Book1, Also gametunnel might be another site.

Alright, here goes. Game sights do not have what is called a back list. Steady old fashioned sellers which can be used continuously. I have been lucky to find a few sites that offer discount downloads with a decent starting selection, specifically, Manifestogames-- I bought Kult Heretic Kingdoms the...

Basically someone came up with a new way to talk about merchandising. That means creating specialty categories focused on niche markets. They took the same strategy used in direct mail catalogs to specialty markets, put it in a "nice new package" and called "The Long Tail". There...

Dot Com spam backed by MBA nonsense. This is not a theory, it is a nice way to say there are niche markets using lots of charts. There is absolutely nothing new in this theory. It is kind like saying flibbety gibbet is a niche market. Wow flibbety gibbet, that is so cool. I never heard of flibbety g...

Another way to do this.

Only certain creatures get bonuses for being behind the character:
Thief, bandit-- backstab.

Only certain creatures get bonuses for surrounding the character:
Giant ants-- swarm

This way it limits the bonuses and creates certain monsters to watch out for.

Some thoughts

I think the square directly behind the character should get a bonus. Either that or if a creature is behind the player, shields become ineffective, so does dex bonus. A properly trained fighter should be able to protect against attacks except for attacks directly from behind. If a player can backsta...

Obscure-- Word of Mouth Games

I am looking for obscure word of mouth games, that you really have to look for to find that are quality games. Basically Isometric RPG games, turn based or real time, it doesn't matter. Storyline and character creation are king. So dungeonsiege is not a good choice for what I am interested in. I rec...
