Re: Baldur's Gate
Edits: - Looks like the walking isn't actually any faster. I wish it was, but... that's just Baldur's Gate, I guess. I don't think it's entirely the same as with Eschalon, where Eschalon's walking makes you feel like you're part of the landscape, almost. - After posting the last message, here, I rea...

Re: Baldur's Gate
Well, I finally decided to get it. I was concerned that it might be slow on this computer, but it's not. (I updated the OS a few days ago, so it works, but the computer is slower with it.) The game doesn't seem to be slowed down, though. I also found the first unplayable quest, whee! Anyway, the gra...

Hmm... good idea, I think... looking for the patches now, but GameBanshee's links seem to be broken so I can't find out if all the patches they've released aren't just PC patches, nevermind download them... .Dragonlady wrote:Wait till they fix the next patch before buying.

Re: Baldur's Gate
Too bad the specs for Mac are 10.6.8... too high for me, though I just ordered Snow Leopard so I'll see if I can upgrade without any problems. Considering I already have BG for the PC side, though, I'm not sure yet if spending $20 extra for the Mac version would be totally worth it, anyway, especial...

Re: Happy Mother's Day!
I just remembered startling my dad one year by sending him flowers on Mother's Day. He called long distance to find out why. I told him, "you were a mother and father to me for so many years I felt it was due." and also, "who says flowers are only for women? I thought you'd like them...

Re: Happy birthday to me!
Happy birthday, Leshpar, we'll all celebrate your persistent recycling from afar. Or, at least, appreciate/commend you for it. Or stare with jealousy. I'm really not 100% sure what any of that means.

Re: [KS] Torment: Tides of Numenera
Anyone remember RogueDao? I guess technically Purgatorio is still in development, but I guess they've been having trouble.
Hope they manage to finish it.

I've been watching this, too, and I still can't help but be skeptical, but still... watching and drooling. EDIT: Just watched your Tony clip, Sird, and I like his "less is more philosophy" regarding combat. Yes, yes, yes! EDIT #2: Now that I've just spent more time looking into the latest ...

Hey, hey, Pale City needs visuals & programming help
Okay, so, I figured I'd post that Kyle Muntz & I are looking for help with the visual art and the programming with The Pale City... right now we're using sprites & tiles from Jesse Bemben's packages (the guy developing "Aleph")... but it'd be cool to have original/tailored artwork ...

Re: The Witcher
in W3 they already have tools and experience, therefore most of the time they are creating the world, quests, more sophisticated storyline, etc. if they are saying something about horses, boats and open world - I suppose it will be awesome! more or less like The Basilisk with E2 and E3 ;> Hoping so...

I never realize just how many books I have until it's time to move. And everyone who helps me move always ends up cursing me for all these boxes and boxes and bags filled with books. ...Then there's the shelving. I do have an Kindle, which is good for some things but I've never bought an e-book and ...

Re: The Witcher
I remember Dragon Age II and Witcher 2 came out at the same time, and CD Projekt Red really showed BioWare how games were supposed to be made. (Poland was so proud of the achievement, in fact, that their Prime Minister, when he came to visit the U.S. last year, gave a copy of Witcher 2 to Obama as a...
