HELLGATE LONDON

I played the demo for 1,5 hours..... Well, I'm really REALLY disapponted. The environments are empty and repetitive, monsters act like stupid robots, quests are all the same (go, kill the monster, take the item / go, kill this number of monsters, come back). My impression was this is a MMORPG playab...

Yes. I agree.
I found boring all the combat and rest system.
I could be an old nostalgic man...but while uninstalling NWN 2 I was searching my archive for Shadows over Riva cd.
Old school... turn based.... atmosphere.... Why older games with worse gfx could be so great?

Let's cross fingers for a november release!

As I stated some weeks ago, I didn't applyed for beta testing because I'd have no time for a well done work on the beta and beacuase I prefer to play the game without spoiling it.

But this waiting is really hard.

Setting doesn't matter that much to me, I'm more interested in the story, gameplay and how the chosen setting is brought to life. That said, a setting has to be something I am at least interested in, or I won't get a lot of enjoyment out of a title. I do thoroughly love when a game takes me on a tr...

I've played one Avernum game.... can't remeber if III or IV. I found it a bit boring. Too much combat (it get repetetive after a while...) and I couldn't "feel" any atmosphere. And I think they could implement better character visualization. Gfx is not crucial but I like to see my alter eg...

Sadly they dont make many adventure games anymore either. So, there must be something wrong with me because my 2 favorite seem to be the least popular now. I'm in the same boat, of course, but I think RPGs are actually worse off than adventure games, which are making a sort of limited niche ...

This question got me to thinking. RPG's are my favorite genre of games, but my second favorite has always been adventure games. Maybe it because adventure games and RPG's give a sense of exploration of a world, which is one of my favorite parts of RPG's. I was big into the classic adventure games, ...

Downloading now the first chapter.
The 1st is free and I'll use it to understand if it's good enough to spend money on the rest of the game.

Short review coming soon.

mmmmm..... I roamed this forum for some day.... No life signs. Any news about beta testing? I wont take part. I'll wait for the complete game to be buyable and playable, but it could be really nice to have an idea of how much time we have to wait (at least for the demo...). Anyway, keep working hard...

If i'm not wrong, BsiliskWrangler just replyed to a similar question saying it wont be possible to implement resolution for Book I because it'd require too much time. But they think to put a wider range of resolution choices in Book II.

Basilisk please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ehi BasiliskW, can you answer this please? I sorta did already! :) What I said was: it's just too early to talk Book II stuff yet. It's fun to throw around ideas, but we gotta get Book I out the door before any serious discussion can take place. However, I don't really like the idea of items having...
