You lose bonuses from your stats if you're wearing an armor type you're not skilled in - meaning, lower ToHit and lower armor class (yes, putting on armor you're not skilled in might actually lower your armor class).

^Another (good) side of that system would be assurance you'll get something meaningful from a hard-to-access chest (Beating a Goblin Warlord should net you more than mandrake root and an empty flask).

The North Parish area is somewhat easier (mostly Salamanders), so you could head over there to pick up some equipment and experience. Don't go too far north, though, or you'll encounter thugs again.

One of my computers works worse under OpenGL (~5 compared to 1), while the other (weaker) is better under OpenGL (2-3 compared to 6-7). Speed helps damage (+1 per two points, I believe), and armor rating, not how fast you walk.

The idea that every unauthorised copy represents a lost sale and actual financial loss is one that should be left to the RIAA/MPAA fantasists. A very good point - in fact, in this case, I'd say that no unauthorised copies actually represent lost sales. Fact is, most DRM methods do annoy the paying ...
