Re: Book II Questions Thread
The lack of a time penalty for switching between ranged and melee weapons seemed a bit like an exploit. Will that change for Book 2? The way I read it, this snippet of info (below) from the Book II announcement seems to indicate it won't change. I agree with you, though. I think changing weapons, l...

Re: Welcome to the new forums
Nice! I like the new look. Had to juggle with the login a bit, as the transfer didn't transfer my password it seems (and it seems to have lost them avatar pics as well). Oh well, not a big deal, easily remedied. The Drunken Lizard is open again and that's the main thing. I'll have a pint o' stout, t...

Mac, you need to explore Blackwater a bit more. Try the western end, there ought to be a house that somehow catches your attention... SPOILER (if you want a direct answer) You need to go to the house/room with a dead corpse in it (behind a locked door, IIRC). It's near the western gate. It's been aw...

Sure, it would be nice to have more items (and more detailed item descriptions) as well as a more interactive environment, but I don't think we need to go to the other extreme, where every item is useable/pickable. I, for one, don't really care if all the plates, cups and spoons on a dinner table ca...

Getting into Shadowmirk... HINT: If the front door is locked, maybe they've got a back door. SPOILER: Go east (right) of the main gate and find your way around the cluster of trees (going east, north, west) so that you arrive at the edge of the eastern wall of Shadowmirk, sandwitched between the wal...

Step back from the powder barrel (so you won't get hurt), take your bow, press the shift key while klicking with the mouse on the barrel. In addition, you don't necessarily need to use a bow to do this. Thrown weapons and even thrown rocks will do as well. I would guess ranged magic, like the flame...
Ooh Sacred... that ill-fated project which was sold to another company and where ALL the plot was stripped out, so the game could be turned into a soulless rpg. Good grief, that sounds awful! I remember playing Sacred (way back when) and thinking how there was so much potential in the engine, but s...

Heh, with my first character, I had already cleared the outside of the Goblin Citadel, when the giants offer their aid. Oh well, more XP for me! :) But yeah, large fights are nice as long as they are not everywhere. One big fight is good in a game the lenght of Book I, more would be overdoing it, IMO.

I don't recall that Mythril Bar to be difficult to find. The dungeon where it is, is pretty straightforward, IIRC (it's been awhile). There are a few places where you're faced with locked doors/gates, but the levers/keys that open them are easy to find. Just explore a bit. IIRC, everytime there are ...

Just pretty please with sugar on top, make the variability in the range of loot from one chest a bit smaller, so that it does not range from a simple apple to an enchanted Flaming Sword of Doom(TM), depending on your luck. For Book II I will make treasure pre-load into all containers upon map entry ...

Bryce, I fully agree with you that the variability of loot drops is way too great. Especially in the early parts of the game, couple of lucky loot drops will make a big difference. For example, I got a skill book and a piece of fairly decent armor from a certain chest the first time, and with anothe...
