Well, NWN wasn't any good for it's campaigns either, it was best suited for playing in persistant worlds or some of the modules that were made.
I sunk a lot of time into NWN but never completed any of the original campaigns.

All I know about NWN2 is that I can't run it on my machine :(

Yeah, I've been pretty much on the fence over this game for a long time now. On the one hand it looks like an interesting, gritty setting and has the promise of real in-depth RP with choice and consequence actions with some "mature" content and other such things. On the other hand, it look...

Well, Fallout was less than 20 hours, so I don't see much of a problem with the proposed 20 hours worth of gametime. That actually suits me quite well, I find long games are just crammed with filler, and I get bored with run arounds that are glaringly obvious time-wasters. I'm sure there will be lot...

I don't play games to be challenged to the breaking point in frustration, nor do I like cake-walk that insults my ability to play a character. What really annoys me in RPGs is constant reloading. How is thar role-playing? In PnP when you die that's it, you're done. So it always mystifies me when peo...

Adjustable difficulty is a good thing to have when character creation and development is very open ended. When the game allows any sort of character to be made, the devs can not balance every fight to match every possible character build, so what happens is some fights become laughably easy or impos...

http://www.the-underdogs.info/ is also a great resource for old games (they have Wasteland for example). However, titles like Arcanum are still actually in-print and you won't be able to, legally, get a copy for free (unless someone just agrees to give you their copy or whatever). Underdogs will som...

There was a comment in one of the previews, from Pete Hines I believe, in which he compared the cluttered disaster of cities to that of "your room". If anything says that FO3 is aimed at the young teen audience, it was that comment. The more I read about FO3 the better I feel about it thou...

Its so hard to tell with big games anymore what you are really going to get, its all PR spin and not much real substance. All too true. I haven't bought a new game for quite a while, either because the demo was terrible for one reason or another, or there was no demo and I refuse to buy into the hy...

Yeah... I don't know. The recent previews seem to indicate that Bethesda has no idea what "post apocalyptic" actually means and implies. They seem to think it means nuclear doo-dads and silly gadgets everywhere. Reading things about super-mutants needing mini-nukes repeatedly applied to th...

Hm. Not knowing how these things work due to a lack of a manual, it sounds like you either need to go with a warrior or mage type of character to be able to deal with the fog of war.

My optimism for FO3 has been dropping with the recent previews. I've read things about some sort of nuclear-blast protective shield or compartment the character has, more details about nuclear-powered cars that explode and such-like. It's been reading more like a Fallout parody than a Fallout game.

Yeah, I can't really compare them but I liked Escahlon better. DivDiv seems to be more of a, well, "grown-up" Diablo whereas Eschalon is firmly in the traditional RPG camp. But as for DivDiv, I believe that fog of war has killed it for me. I don't mind things being hidden but when the fog ...
