I played the demo, and I'm thinking of buying Avernum 4. The thing that annoys me is the fact that once you've killed everything in a particular area it remains empty, forcing you on to the next place. I think the use based experience system is certainly a lot better than the kill based experience system. I like being able to decide whether or not I want to get involved in combat at a particular time, and not feel that I've got to kill everything in sight just to level up. Worse still is the kill ...

Eschalon on Linux
I too would love to see a Linux port available. I only just started using Linux at Christmas, and Eschalon: Book I would be my first Linux game. I'm using Suse Linux.
