Same will be true of Demon Oil - if Demon Oil is set up as your primary weapon, shift-clicking a door will get your character to throw the Demon Oil at the door. Just make sure your character's stepped back a few steps!

I don't think so - in both the Ossuary and Shadowmirk, I always leave the chests open - it makes no difference, they still work.
