The Age Of Decadence video may not be perfect, but for a super-indie game I think it's quite impressive. And as Jora points out, the devs are aware of the animation flaws and are fixing them. I think the lead said he knew it was flawed before release, but wanted to get the video out to show other el...

Arcanum and Fallout are excellent RPGs where you don't need to have a party. Well, I suppose you don't need a party for those games, but a new player wouldn't do so well soloing them I'd suspect. Fallout 2 is a bit more party-friendly than Arcanum though.. Having a party in Arcanum is sort of a mix...

I couldn't get into it. All those Diablo-ish games (Diablo included) just bore me too much. Sacred, Diablo, Titan Quest, Dungeon Siege etc all have no redeeming feature. I really tried to like TQ and Sacred because of the setting of the former and the sheer size and number of quests in the latter, b...

I played the demo for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened and was really impressed. The demo wasn't very long, but from what it did have, I got the impression that the writers very nicely captured the merging of the Doyle/Lovecraft settings and story telling. And that's not easy. It was more Doyle than Lo...

I've been hearing really good things about this game on many different forums and such.
I haven't yet checked it out, as I'm not a big fan of hybrid RPG/strategy games and I'm pretty burned out on MMO-style quests, which Peril is largely built around (from what I've come to understand).

You dont have any choices during dialog, you just click each question until you are done clicking and dialog ends. You never have an option to choose what you want to say, or if you want to help someone or not, its forced every time. So, your forced to play through the novel and slog through the le...

You know, I'm not sure what it's built on. I think you're right, though.

Yeah, I'm with you on the lack of animations thing. I don't need amazing graphics, but I do like a good art style, and I do like movement animations. If I'm not going to have a game that gives the impression of being alive, I'd rather play tabletop games with miniatures that at least look good. From...

Is this in comparison to other spiderweb games? Did you play Avernum 4? No, it's not in comparison to any other Spiderweb games, which I have never played. I've certainly looked at them, but they just never interested me, which was why I was curious about Nethergate. The subject matter is appealing...

So I tried the Nethergate demo that came out recently. Just couldn't get in to it. The art direction is terrible, the gameplay dull and the graphics completely lack interest.
Perhaps I expected more from it, but it seemed a bit goofy rather than taking advantage of a rich subject matter.

Re: "Cash Cab" Question

I was just watching Discovery Channel's "Cash Cab" and some women just lost their video bonus question. The question they couldn't answer was: "What South American lizard that can run atop water was named after a legendary creature whose gaze could kill?" Anyone? Hmmmmmm.... It ...

I would suggest you use some sort of copy protection like haveing them require a serial to download the game or somesuch. What you will get is some less then honest person who will throw it out on torrents and boom there goes any chanec of profit. Just as the guys who made east side hockey manager....

The trick is finding a balance between reality and gaming fun. Tilting heavily to the side of realism is going to remove a lot of favoured fantasy RPG conventions, like the warrior in full plate with a tower shield stomping around like an unstoppable tank. Gesion's observations are quite accurate, a...

The problem with dual wielding in computer games is that it usually gives more advantage than using a sword and shield or even a two-handed weapon, when in fact it's not really that amazing an ability. But it's usually just hacked in to be functional with little regard to other combat techniques, th...
