Re: I really don't like the ending [massive spoilers]
c) Ghorr doesn't want them. The One wants them. Ghorr is just a bulldozer being used to sweep the lands to make the acquisition of the Crux possible for The One. d) Again, you are assuming you know Korren's intentions. Up to this point you also don't know that The One is looking for just two Crux. ...

Re: I really don't like the ending [massive spoilers]
So many assumptions here, people! as I said last time you dropped this blithe answer in the middle of a thread wherein I was discussing the middle-game plot, it's quite the opposite. you never replied then, and I doubt you'll reply now, but I'll repeat the basic argument, anyway: I'm going on almos...

Re: The Prospector
I dunno. I think it should work on zombies, but not skeletons. But maybe I'm weird.
Also, Randomizer, here's an extra "zero" for your prospector HP estimates. I'm pretty sure someone with 150 HP would notice a 20 point hit.

Re: The Prospector
I was playing an elemental mage, as well when I faced him first - I used a couple barrels of black powder. He might not notice fire dart, but the barrels sure did notice it. And he noticed them pretty effectively.

Re: Spoilers! Staying a Level 1 Mage as long as possible gam
It depends quite alot on when you can get that first invisibility potion to get into Port Kuudad and what scrolls and items are available. I've done pacifist enough to know that you can run past most monsters to do non-violent quests but I gained levels to max out sparkling wonder. If you run past ...

Re: Daggerfall is now Freeware
It's a deceptive oversimplification, to be sure - in words it sounds like "the old limited DOS from the early 90s," but in reality, what's left of "DOS" has none of the memory limitations of earlier versions, and very little capacity to do anything, really, except decide in which...

Re: Screenie.
I like how, after killing the entire town, you still had like four or five barrels left over.
...and you hadn't even placed them for maximum efficiency. pretty spooky. I wonder how much of port kuudad you could undo.

They have random things per game per week, so, yes, it is sometimes available in Port Kuudad.

Re: light armor vs. heavy armor
Well, you can wear any armor as any "class" (since it's a classless RPG, beyond the title and initial skill point), however: a) you probably don't want to invest more than the first point into armor skills. there are minor benefits to high levels of armor skill, easily outweighed by gettin...

Re: Mapping question - Roads not showing
Dry ground has the same map color as road, which in turn has the same map color as some kinds of walls. It's the price of wanting to show ground detail effects with a limited palette, I'm afraid.

There are perm items in the shops -- but they're mostly arrows, healing and mana potions, lock picks, and food (depending on the kind of shop). The only guaranteed spell is compress atmosphere in Everdale.

I get this effect, kinda. I look at my window, and it's black, and then I start playing Eschalon, and next thing I know, I look at my window, and it's white, and then I look at the clock and groan.
