Your character can look through the windows next to the wooden levers. The room is pitch black but drinking a Cat's Eyes Brew and using a torch will fix that.
Ahh, I forgot about the windows! That does make sense then.

After I kill the lava slags and get the diamond key, the big wooden doors (with the note saying you need a key with a diamond chip) still won't open.

Am I missing something?

I have the same problem: I collect the diamond chip key -- but when I look at my key ring, the key is not there, so I cannot unlock the door. I've done this twice now. The key disappeared both times.

Specifics: I reloaded an old high-level character, whose key ring is crowded. Also, I'm a Mac user. Thanks in advance for any pointers/bug fixes!

How many keys do you count on your full key ring?

Right now, my key ring has 20 keys. This has not been a problem before, but that was in version 1.0.4.

Both times I've completed Fathamurk it was with characters who had completed the entire game except the last bit of Tallushorn, and so should have had just about every key on their key rings. I didn't have trouble with the diamond key in either case. I'm on Linux rather than Mac, though.

I tried uploading the Char file, but the site kept saying the file extension is not allowed (?!). I tried adding .htm and .txt suffixes, no go. I will send it to BW by e-mail.

Zip the contents of the slotX directory and post that.

BW:

Oh dear.

I also have twenty keys. I took my original character from when I won EB2 the first time, copied him into a new start-of-game, and played him through a second time. (I wasn't happy with how tough he was the first time through.)

I won the game a SECOND time, and then used a late save-game from THAT run to start Fathamurk.

Here's what my keychain looks like:

I was hoping duplicate keys would just resolve themselves, but alas, I have two of almost every key on my keychain.

May I assume that's the problem? And... is it fixable?

You have two Bluish Keys. Did you kill Magi Surami?

If so, then the problem shouldn't exist in a NEW game for 1.05- there will never be more than 20 keys because Magi Surami no longer drops a redundant key.

For the few of you who have overloaded key rings, I'll come up with a fix very soon.

You also have BOTH Hammerlorne keys...??

I am starting to think that the key problem only exists under extreme circumstances...

Oh, sorry....I overlooked the part where you said you reused a character file creating duplicate keys...

Yeah, that is going to cause a problem.
