Tree trunk from Treasure map

Post by clanshaw53 »

I found the tree stump. How do I open it? I can't pick the lock and I can't beat it into submission.

There is no key - if you want to get the stuff (no unique treasure, just some cash), come back when you have more powerful picklock skills or a lockmelt spell (level 6 needed)

And if you're using the fixed random seed, bring a LOT of lock picks. ;)

Not just cash. Be prepared to wander all over Mistfell and rest for a couple weeks if you want to unload the non-cash goodies.

odd that nobody has mentioned that yet but... who puts a lock on a tree trunk?! *lol*

reminds me about the monsters in diablo 1 that would throw their loot across the room when they died... ;)

Um...well...it's really a solid adamantium vault, expertly crafted to look like a stump. Also, it's anchored 80 feet down into solid bedrock so it can't be lifted. There is a key, but the owner wore it around his neck until his boat was attacked by a Kraken and sunk; the key now rests at the bottom of the Crushing Deep.

So there's your answer.
