[spoiler] Stuck near the end of the game

So, I've reached the Citadel - and a dead end it seems.

To be precise, I'm now trying to figure out how to get past the room that has two gates which drop down when you walk over the trigger plate underneath them.

Actually, at this point, I'd like to know if it's even possible to get past the gate on the north side of the room. Reaching the lever seems to be out of the question, and the only other idea I had was to reduce weight (a goblin walked over the plate without triggering the mechanism), but it did nothing.

I hope you have a bow or something similar in your inventory.

Yeah, I've tried a bunch of stuff as well, casting spells, attacking, using the sacrificial dagger to kill the goblins that appear, etc.

Hi

Did anyone find anything to do with the golden demon statue? I have touched it three times in a raw (removing the curse and killing the goblins each time) but nothing happened so far.

Did I miss something?

Any clues to share?
