If you add skill points to Mercantile, you can buy items cheaper and sell items for more gold. During testing, I added all available level up points to Mercantile for the first 6 or 7 levels and the rest of the game went very easy. The formula for buy/sell was balanced slightly, but this is still a fun way to play. There is also a magic item that will help with Mercantile, as well as a book to gain additional skill. HTH.

I can highly recommend getting the skill Foraging up a few levels. Now you will automatically harvest reagents around your tent while you are camping. Higher levels in foraging means more reagents and more valuable ones also. :)

Humm..to give a clue or not to give, that is the query...

Think of the story of Little Red Riding Hood and disobeying road signs.

Foraging => free reagents => sell them if you need cash.

save up cash, get "create food" spell (divine). sell food to innkeepers until they are out of money :)

That's because they keep the real loot behind an impassable gate... loot that you can only drool at.
