I can repeatably crash the game by bashing a powder keg in a specific location.
I was trying to do something stupid, but I was just experimenting, honest.
I placed the keg in front of the cracked wall in the apartment next to Wendy's place. Then I hit it with my cudgel. At point blank range. I see an explosion, then the game disappears and I get a 'quit unexpectedly' message.
If I move the keg far away and try the same thing, it works correctly. I die, of course, but the game doesn't crash.
Also, if I move a few steps away and throw an axe at it, it works correctly.
I'm running version 1.04 on Mac OS 10.6.4 on a 15 MacBook Pro from mid 2009.
I attached a screenshot, and I can provide a saved game if you need one.
Also, I see talk of version 1.05 and 1.06, but I don't see how to upgrade. There aren't any options in the game, and the downloads page only has 1.04 for the full version of the game.

Re: Bash Crash
Craig, I'd E-mail in the Save Game, if you can. (Couldn't hurt! )craigsumner wrote:I can repeatably crash the game by bashing a powder keg in a specific location.

(I may also add this to my 'bugs' list, depending on what follow-up there is on this issue...)
The v1.06 "upgrade" talk is specific to Book I.craigsumner wrote:Also, I see talk of version 1.05 and 1.06, but I don't see how to upgrade. There aren't any options in the game, and the downloads page only has 1.04 for the full version of the game.
The v1.05 "expansion" of Book II isn't out yet - maybe later this month...

Re: Bash Crash
I think you are seeing a bug similar to one that Dragonlady saw during beta testing. When you stand next to the keg and the cracked wall while detonating, the game needs to redraw too many things to deal with all the changes. This causes the application to crash.
Besides you're dead anyway so it doesn't matter too much.
