are using a heavily modified Book I engine for Book II.

Oh no! The thing I love most about Book 1 is that it is single player and turn based. I personally don't see what the advantage would be in changing the feel of the game. Have you had any feedback requesting such a change? I think it would become a completely different beast if you made that alteration......
