Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
And here I provide some additional odds and ends that might be of interest.
Food Analysis
The short version: Clam Chowder is the best! But if you have to buy it and/or carry it, Salted Fish is the best! (And it tastes better than icky spellcaster gruel!)
The longer version:
Here's my list of what foods are best if you are mostly concerned with WEIGHT.
And here's my list of what foods are best if you are mostly concerned with COST.

Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
That should be all the room I need now, just a couple more areas and some little bits to finish up. I ended up triggering the ending before I got to some of the optional areas. And I managed to make some areas optional that probably aren't supposed to be. (Finished with only one crux gem.) Now going back from a pre-end save, time to take out those blue meanies in Elderoak Forest... yaaa they had it coming!
Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
Is the list of trainers on the first page really complete? It seems like there are a lot of skills missing, and no trainers for anything in the second half of the game (unless this game is much shorter than I'm imagining; just made it through the witch's lair).
Also, what are people's thoughts on how far you should train any one skill? 800 gold for one skill point doesn't seem worth it, but I'm not sure where the cutoff should be.

Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
When trying to be particularly efficient with any limited resource (including skill and attribute points), I tend to put all of my points into mercantile until it is easy enough to buy the first eight levels of a skill, and then the book. It got interesting in Book III when I also had to train mercantile (because I could, so I guess I didn't really have to).guy wrote: Also, what are people's thoughts on how far you should train any one skill? 800 gold for one skill point doesn't seem worth it, but I'm not sure where the cutoff should be.
P.S. Farwalker, AMEN to walk Prismatic said. If you need me to delete this post so it's all uniform, just say so.

Thanks!
No worries Vrogen, glad to see some Q&A / discussion. Also nice to hear folks are finding the info useful!Vroqren wrote:If you need me to delete this post so it's all uniform, just say so.
Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
Finished up the Rockhammer Mine Level 2. Sadly there wasn't much there to finish up... Yes I waited at least a whole day to see if someone would come check on the chests, per the sign's notice. Alas no Level 3.
Also went back to Weeping Mountain to track down the secret area I missed in the beginning. When I first went through that area I was more interested in finding a fresh water source than anything else.
Now picking off the inhabitants of Mirkwood a few at a time. Bow feat, sparks, run away and rest, then back again. Very handy when it happens to rain, for the spark bonus.

Re: Farwalker's Field Journal (MASSIVE SPOILERS)
Yeah, that does seem to be all the trainers. Some very good ones in the list though.guy wrote:Is the list of trainers on the first page really complete? How much to train depends a bit on what you intend your build to look like eventually. If you're going to have access to a high powered lore spell, then maybe you don't need to train lore much. I agree with Vrogen on mercantile, definately worthwhile getting that fully trained (+ book) as soon as you can.
I did wait a bit though to take advantage of the bet with Lucky in Old Moonrise. Once I hit 30k I doubled my money with Lucky to 60k and trained mercantile first thing. I wasn't going to have a spell for locks any time soon, so pick locks was another skill well worth full training.
Training Medicine and Meditation all the way is worthwhile to me to help get my HP and MP regen up there (not so many attribute points needed in End and Perc that way).

I've got the one near 28,81 - is there another secret area I missed?GChrisSfish21 wrote:Secret Area out from the "thumb" on the coast in Bassilt Dunes
I didn't try to record the locations of all the secret areas (some don't have containers), that's something I might add in if I do another full playthrough.
