I have been walking around the mine. (carefully, I don't want to set off a trap!)

and i have not run into a scorpion for awhile.

but the guy says I have not killed them all. ?

It really helps to have cartography in this mine. If you don't though, you can still look around. There are some in the far corners of the lower parts of the mine.
EDIT: Not lower as in second level, my bad. Lower part of the mine as in southern. The scorpions are, in fact, only in the lower (southern) half of the mine.

I read on the forums and found the cartography book. on sweep of mine I had missed a small area and 1 scorpion.
