Current release of Book 1
Is anyone having any installation or operational issues with the current Book 1 release (1.06) for Window, Mac or Linux?
We are going to be part of a promotion next week and want to make sure the current packages install and run on the latest version of Ubuntu, MacOS and Windows 8. We have not yet updated all our in-house computers to the latest OSs.

I haven't installed version 1.06 of Book I. If you want to hook me up a link, I'll test it on my system, though I'm on 10.7.5, not the latest Mac OS.

Re: Current release of Book 1
I last played Book I in mid-March of 2012, and there were no problems at that time. I am currently on OS 10.8.2 with Book I version 1.06 (2012.3).
I just started a new game to see if there were any obvious problems, and there were not. If you need me to do something more, please let me know.

As noted in my PM back to you, installed and running perfectly under 10.7.5.BasiliskWrangler wrote:Sent you a private message.

Re: Current release of Book 1
I just checked my old Mac version and last played it Dec. 11, 2011. Seemed fine and no white stuff as I recall there used to be. Haven't checked my laptop yet. I think I was on it in the summer this year and don't recall any problems.
edit: May of this year on laptop. okay

Re: Current release of Book 1
It would appear I have nothing better to do on a Friday night so had a quick test now instead.
Tested both the full steam versions and demo versions of the stand alone ones.
All install just fine, although the Windows 8 smart screen initially blocked the install of Book II standalone.
All 4 versions also loaded up and got me into a game fine, the only I noticed was with both versions of Book I, I'm sure I have always ran this in DirectX mode in the past but when I tried just now trying to walk was incredibly slow. Worked just fine in OpenGl mode though and Book II worked in either.

Send me a link to 1.06 and I'll test it on the latest Ubuntu.

Re: Current release of Book 1
I just played a few hours of 1.06 on the latest Ubuntu (11.10, Quantal) and didn't notice any problems.
Re: Current release of Book 1
I'm running ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop and I'm still waiting to be able to download the full thing through steam ^_^.
